Policies are implemented by Governmental officials. Professions such, as social workers, private companies, and/or individuals encourage the implementation of policies. As we learned in the Trattner textbook, individuals such as Dorthea Dix saw problems in the Mental Health System and advocated for those individuals to ensure they were properly taken care of. Throughout history Presidents have implemented programs or laws to improve poverty; the economy; mental health systems; health care systems; discrimination; racism; and domestic and foreign polices. At the local level, policies are implemented by townships and city officials; mayors; and governors of a State. Those who take on task of implementing policy have the power to advocate for the people and their well being.
